Health Certificates

At TruVet Pet Hospital, we are authorized to issue pet health certificates.

Whether you’re traveling abroad or just going to a different state with your furry family member, you might need to obtain a certificate of veterinary inspection.

Also referred to as a health certificate, this document can only be provided by USDA-certified veterinarians. At TruVet Pet Hospital, we are authorized to issue pet health certificates in Frisco and are here to help you prepare for an upcoming trip with your dog or cat.

Domestic Health Certificates

Domestic health certificates are for interstate travel within the United States. They are typically required when traveling by air, but you may need one for other modes of transportation as well. To issue one of these certificates, we must perform a physical examination and make sure your pet is up to date on their Rabies vaccination within 10 days of your planned departure date. Obtaining a domestic health certificate is relatively simple and doesn’t require much time if your pet is healthy.

International Health Certificates

Obtaining an international health certificate is a bit trickier. Every country has its own often-complex requirements, and it can take several months to complete the certification process for your pet. If you plan to travel internationally, we encourage you to contact us as soon as you have all the details. We’ll determine your destination’s requirements and make sure everything is in order by your anticipated travel date.
